Roald Dahl Children’s Community Epilepsy Nurse Specialist

Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity and Solent NHS Trust are seeking a Roald Dahl Children’s Community Epilepsy Nurse Specialist to provide specialist care in the community to seriously ill children with epilepsy.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Roald Dahl Children's Community Specialist Epilepsy Nurse to provide expert nursing care for children and young people with epilepsy who have complex care needs.

The role is based within the community in the Portsmouth area (part of Solent NHS Trust) and requires the successful applicant to develop a specialist caseload and provide support in various community settings including: with community paediatricians, local children's community services and with acute providers.

The successful applicant will help to ensure those in their care spend less time in hospital and more time at home, school or college, enabling them to enjoy a better quality of life and improved outcomes.

The successful applicant will also be able to access the Roald Dahl professional development package which will help them to develop their career and the service.  

Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity has 55 Roald Dahl Specialist Children’s Nurses, 2 Paediatric Neuro-Rehab Occupational Therapists and 1 Play Specialist giving expert help to families across the UK.  Roald Dahl Specialist Nurses play a critical and complex role. They work directly with the patient and family whilst providing a link between them and the consultant and the hospital.
