Roald Dahl loved mischievous machines. Find out about the tricks he played with his Meccano set as a boy, and hear about some of the curious contraptions in his books. Then make your own junk-modelled contraption – which tricks will yours play?

Event details

Times: 11.00am, 12.00pm, 1.00pm, 2.00pm, 3.00pm and 4.00pm

Please note, there is limited availability on the 12.00pm workshop.

Cost: £3 per person. Adults are able to pay to make their own if they like. Price does not include Museum entry which you will also need to book to take part in the workshop.

Age: suitable for 5+ years. Under 16s will need to be accompanied by an adult (no more than two non-paying adults will be allowed in the room per group). Participating children aged 2 to 4 years will still need to pay.

Type of workshop: craft workshop. All materials will be supplied

Booking: you can book Museum entry and workshops online up until 4.30pm the day before (subject to availability). Workshop options will appear after selecting your Museum admission.
