Salary: £60,000 - £67,000 (full-time equivalent, pro-rated if part-time)

Who are we?
The Roald Dahl Story Company owns the copyrights to Roald Dahl’s stories. The company works across publishing, film, TV, theatre, merchandise and licensed products, plus brand partnerships and marketing. The Roald Dahl Story Company’s purpose is to protect and grow the cultural value of Roald Dahl stories, with their unique breadth of characters and worlds.
The company was acquired by Netflix in October 2021, and is now poised to extend its portfolio with a Roald Dahl animated universe, immersive experience, new publishing and more national and international theatre productions.
The Theatre Team was set up in 2018 to commission, develop and produce new plays and musicals based on Roald Dahl stories. We work in partnership with co-producers, aiming to find long-term commercially successful pathways for our productions.

What’s the role?
We are recruiting for a Producer to join our Theatre Team, and to work closely with the Executive Producer for Theatre. Your work will involve project producing, managing relationships with theatre artists, developing partnerships with co-producers, drafting and negotiating contracts, financial management, and managing the development of new theatre shows.
What are the key skills and experience needed?
This job would suit a candidate with a track record at a producing theatre, who is used to supporting the commissioning and development of new work; a senior General Manager in theatre; or a candidate who has significant experience at a literary agency managing writers’ commissions, license agreements, and relationships with producers. Experience of actually producing and managing theatre productions is a must-have. You may have had a very different career path to the suggestions above, and may still have the skills and experience we are looking for (see Job Specification for more details).
