Museum Operations Officer (temporary)

The Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre, Great Missenden, Buckinghamshire 

Salary: £14,205 for 25 hours a week (£21k FTE)

Type of post: Temporary, maternity cover backfill role (for at least 6 months, starting from mid-February).

The Roald Dahl Museum is looking for an organised and efficient new member of staff to join their team. As Museum Operations Officer you’ll be an integral part of a small and busy team working to support the day-to-day operation of the Museum.

The Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre welcomes thousands of people through our doors every year to experience the wonder and magic of Roald Dahl’s stories. To keep this special place humming, our Museum Operations Officer plays a key role in supporting staff across the entire Museum team. This in an office-based role in which you will be required to think on your feet, prioritise well and manage your time efficiently in a bustling environment; you will act as the first point of contact for enquiries and keep the offices in good order, while undertaking a variety of different tasks daily to keep the business running smoothly.

This role will suit someone hoping to gain valuable experience within the arts and heritage sector. You’ll be a great communicator, with solid organisational and time management skills, but most importantly you’ll be enthusiastic, keen to learn and willing to ask the right questions to get things done.

The Museum Operations Officer reports to the Finance Manager, however works closely with all of the Museum’s departments. The right candidate will be given full support and training, with many opportunities for ongoing professional development.
