About Roald Dahl Nurses

Roald Dahl Specialist Children’s Nurses* provide support, information and practical care for seriously ill and disabled children and young people across the UK. Roald Dahl Specialist Children's Nurses support the whole family too.

Roald Dahl Nurses are highly trained, senior professionals who can 'make things happen' both within the hospital and beyond. They can advise on a whole range of medical, emotional and social issues.

They create great impact for the children and families they support oand on the NHS Trust and wider healthcare environment they operate in.

Facts about our Roald Dahl Nurses

We estimate our Roald Dahl Nurses care for in excess of 21,000 seriously ill children and their families at any one time. They specialise in a variety of conditions including epilepsy, blood disorders and acquired brain injury.

There are currently 80 Roald Dahl Specialist Nurses in the UK, across Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and England.
