Spend some quality family together-time at the Museum this Christmas
Drop-in to our pop-up Post Office and write a letter to someone special in our Lickswishy Festive Letters weekends. Or you can all enjoy an hour of seasonal stories and crafts that will make you feel warm and fuzzy inside. If you're after some Christmas magic then you'll love meeting storyteller Andy Copps, who'll share some storytelling skills with you.
See our What's On pages for more family-friendly events.
What better than an afternoon tea? A festive afternoon tea - that's what! Make a visit to the Museum even more special by enjoying a Christmas afternoon tea while you're here. Enjoy festive finger sandwiches, pigs in blankets, scones with brandy cream, Christmas pudding truffles and Christmas crackers. What could be better?
Visit Great Missenden and there's more than just the Museum to explore. Pick up one of our walks leaflets and set out on foot to discover some of the local Roald Dahl sights. Bring your wellies and ramble up to the woods that inspired Fantastic Mr Fox on our Countryside Trail, or stick to the pavement and follow the Village Trail to discover sights like Matilda's library.
Find out more about our Roald Dahl walks here.
Who can resist a museum gift shop?! We've got enough goodies, books and stocking fillers to make even the biggest Roald Dahl fans gasp! Can't visit us? Don't worry, you can buy lots of Roald Dahl gifts online.
The Museum and Cafe are open over the Christmas holidays. We're only closed on 24, 25, 26 and 31 December, and 1 January. See opening hours here.
