The Museum will be celebrating all things Minpins on the 16 and 17 September

Head to the Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre in Great Missenden for birthday celebrations like no other!

This year the Museum's Roald Dahl birthday celebrations will take place over 2 days for the first time and will feature events and activities inspired by the new edition of Billy and the Minpins.

Billy and the Minpins

The Minpins was Roald Dahl's last children's book. Like many of his other stories, it was partially inspired by the Great Missenden countryside near where he lived. A new edition of the book titled Billy and the Minpins and illustrated by Quentin Blake for the first time, will be released in September - just in time for Roald Dahl Day!

The Museum celebrations:

Make a Minpin House

The Museum, with help from visitors, will be creating a World of Minpins installation on the 16 and 17 September. Book onto one of the workshops* to a make a Minpin home to add to the forest, or help the roving sound artist make a forest soundscape. All visitors can view the installation at 4pm each day.

Exhibition of Quentin Blake's Drawings

See Quentin Blake's new drawings for Billy and the Minpins in a new exhibition at the Museum. Can't make the Roald Dahl Day celebrations? Don't worry, they will be on display until April next year.

Make sure you track down the meadering magician and enjoy some mind-boggling magic each day of the celebrations.

Swashboggling storytelling
