It's 4 weeks until Mark Oxtoby, aka Jerry from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory - The New Musical, runs the 2016 London Marathon and he's been doing some fantabulous fundraising.

"With a little over 4 weeks to go, I'm training hard and pounding the pavements in readiness for the big day. In fact, by the time you read this, I will have run my 18 miles while training and that means only one more (really) long run before the big day, the 21 mile session 2 weeks before. I know everyone does slightly different distances for their longest runs and as this is my third marathon I am combining the best of both training schedules for this one.

In my last blog, I mentioned how I intended to raise some marvellous money. Well, on Friday 25th, and Saturday 26th March those lovely people (my bosses) at Charlie and the Chocolate FactoryThe New Musical, Theatre Royal, Drury Lane, allowed me to do a little speech and bucket collections after the shows. We were also very fortunate to have Marvin, the most marvellous of crocodiles with us.

The very kind audience members that attended over the Easter weekend donated a marvellous total of £4,114.17 taking my fundraising total so far to £4,719.17. It's just incredibly marvellous and I can’t thank everyone enough for their generosity!

If you couldn't be with us at the theatre and haven't donated yet, don't panic, there’s still time and every single penny makes a difference. If you are able to help Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity, please do so by donating now.

Thank you again to everyone that has contributed so far and as always you can follow me on Twitter @oxtoby_mark to read all my latest training tweets and donate on my Virgin Money Giving page."
