Head to the Museum on Monday 4 May to celebrate Roald Dahl’s much-loved story The Twits with a day of Twit-filled trickery and mischief.
From Matilda’s supernatural powers to George’s medicinal concoction, Roald Dahl’s books have always been packed with mischief and mayhem. None more so than The Twits, a story that features more tricks than you can shake a stick at - Mrs Twit’s ever growing walking stick that is!
Pick up a Trickster Trail sheet and find out about crafty tricks from Roald Dahl’s life and stories. Meet the gloriously disgusterous Mr and Mrs Twit and the marvellous Mugglewump family in the galleries, and head to the Craft Room to make your very own foulsome Mr Twit beard.
Find out about Roald Dahl’s childhood pranks, and how his own mischievousness seeped into many of his characters on one of the terrific Twit Talks in the replica Writing Hut at 11am, 1pm and 3pm.
Join in with the Twits Tricks and Circus Skills workshops. Perfect for cheeky monkeys ages 6 and over, who’ll be able to learn a few circus skills (just like Muggle-Wump the Monkey) and watch some mesmerising magic - not to be missed! At 10.30am, 12.00pm, 1.30pm and 3.00pm (£4 per participant plus Museum entry).
And if that’s not enough there will be some swashboggling storytelling sessions throughout the day!
To join in with all the fun, call 01494 892192 to book Museum entry and workshops, or alternatively book Museum admission only online.
If you can't wait until then, why not take a virtual peek in the archive and find out about some of Roald Dahl's unseen tricks.
