An Annual Conference with a difference. Edgewell staff raise money to help local charities.

On Friday 16th September, Edgewell Personal Care, the company behind household brands such as Wilkinson Sword and Hawaiian Tropic decided to embark on an Annual Conference with a difference. They opted to raise money for two local charities (the UK arm of Edgewell is based in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire), including Thames Valley Air Ambulance and Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity.

Eight teams from Edgewell started their fundraising adventures from Twickenham Stadium and competed against one-another to see who could raise the most amount of money and awareness in one day. Activities the marvellous teams undertook included a fancy-dress tandem cycle from Twickenham to High Wycombe, climbing the O2 centre, selling goodie bags in a local market and hosting a tea party at a local primary school.

Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity mascot Marvin made several appearances throughout the day and staff were very creative with their team names which included, 'Pledgewell', 'Fundrazors' and 'The Bladerunners'. Staff also generated a marvellous hashtag for the day called #EdgewellGiving and created a real buzz on social media to highlight their achievements.

Over £16,000 was raised for both charities and has been split between the two. Nick Powell from Edgewell is incredibly proud of his colleagues achievements, she says "We are delighted to have raised so much money for these worthy charities and had plenty of fun in doing so. Completing the activities was a fantastic way of bringing the Edgewell team closer together and we all now share a lasting sense of achievement. It's very important for us to support charities in the local community and a great way to work with colleagues' to help those in need."
