It turns out you don’t need an inventing room like Willy Wonka to create a marvellous Roald Dahl nurse - who knew?

Having funded 51 nurses over the years throughout the UK, Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity are experts in creating Roald Dahl nurses.

The Charity is currently in the process of making two new nurse posts to add to the pack and they need all the help they can get to make sure these nurses are as marvellous as possible.

The new nurse posts will be based at Birmingham Children’s Hospital and will help children and families affected by rare conditions.

But how to make sure these nurses are marvellous? We’re so glad you asked! The answer is, with the help of marvellous children and families. To do this, the Charity are working with Birmingham Children’s Hospital to hold a Rare Diseases Family Engagement Event tomorrow.

Birmingham Children’s Hospital’s Rare Disease Service patients and families are coming to share their views about how the new Roald Dahl posts would best support them. These views will then be pulled together to create the two new marvellous nurse posts.

We’re very fortunate to have the support of Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity and are looking forward to welcoming these two new posts shaped by our children and families.

So that you don’t miss out on any of the fun tomorrow, we will be live-tweeting from the event – just follow @RoaldDahlFund on Twitter.

Alternatively, if you are a family who is unable to attend the event, you can complete an online survey and download a Rare Diseases Activity Pack.
