A massive well done, congratulations, and hats off to the 41 runners who completed the British 10K in London on Sunday for Team Marvellous.

The running conditions were perfect on Sunday morning as the rain held off to allow 41 runners to complete the 6 mile course around the city centre to raise money for Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity. There were a few nerves as we brought our supporters together for a pre-race photo but once they were at the start line, they all flew round the course with many of the team completing the race in under an hour!

We asked Katie, one of the runners, to tell us why she choose to run for Team Marvellous:

“After hearing all about Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity and meeting the fantastic team, how could I say no? I haven’t run in a race for over 25 years so I guess I was a little daunted by the distance. However, the sense of occasion on the day, the music, the smiles and the overall buzz of the crowds put pay to negativity and carried our team over the line in well under an hour to our utter amazement.”

Would you like to join our team? Now the weather has improved, the evenings are lighter and summer is finally here, we think it is the perfect time to dust off those trainers and get running.  All you need now is the motivation and what’s a better motivator than signing up for a race and helping seriously ill children?

We have spaces at four fabulous running events for you to choose from:

The Run to the Beat 10K takes place in London in September 2015;

The Cardiff Half Marathon in October 2015;

The World Half Marathon in Cardiff in March 2016; and

The Brighton Marathon in April 2016.

All you need to do is contact Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity today to secure your place.

Don’t fancy any of those runs? Sign up for any race and raise money to help seriously ill children. Just don't forget to tell us!

We can’t wait to have you on our team!
