The annual celebration of all things bookish is here again - we hope you're having a very happy World Book Day and Night
Last month, children and adults across the UK and Ireland celebrated World Book Day by dressing up as their favourite story book characters.
Today - as other countries celebrate World Book Day AND we join in with the amazing annual worldwide book party known as World Book Night - we thought it a great opportunity to look back at some of the wonderful Roald Dahl costumes we saw in March. Allow us to introduce a suitably scary Miss Trunchbull, an adorable Mr Hoppy and an exceptionally bearded Mr Twit - and there are lots more great pictures right here.
World Book Night takes place on 23rd April every year; also the day we say Happy Birthday to Mr William Shakespeare, and the UNESCO International Day of the Book. World Book Night invites volunteers to gift books to others and encourage a love of reading. A list of 20 books are chosen by World Book Night organisers for volunteers to give out to potential readers.
And, if you're looking for some more reading inspiration for World Book Night - why not take a look at Matilda Wormwood's reading list? Ably assisted by local librarian Mrs Phelps, Matilda reads everything from C.S Lewis's The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe to Charles Dickens's Nicholas Nickleby.
Take a look at the full list here.
World Book Night began in the UK in 2011, where it is run by The Reading Agency. For more information, take a look at the World Book Night website.
