Join Glenn Cosby, star of series 4 of the Great British Bake Off, for some family foodie fun on Saturday 18 October at the Roald Dahl Museum
Continuing the Museum's choc-filled year of Charlie and Chocolate Factory's 50th birthday celebrations, they're delighted to welcome Glenn Cosby, star of season 4 of the Great British Bake Off, fresh from his one-man show, Food Junkie, at the Edinburgh Festival.
Previously an English teacher, Glenn shot to fame in series four of the Great British Bake Off with his "fantastic" (Paul's word) apricot and pistachio tiffin and impressive shortbread and macaron helter-skelter. Famous on the show for his 'big bakes', Glenn now tours with his Bake it Big roadshow, and makes time for other bake-filled fun such as his Edinburgh show Food Junkie which was described as “the perfect blend of comedy and baking”.
Now Museum visitors will be able to get in on all the big baking fun with Glenn. The audience can expect their sweet tooth and funny bone to be tickled in the hour-long family-friendly foodie sessions, packed with cakes, audience participation, improvised silliness and comedy, especially put together for the Museum. Glenn will show you how to make Italian meringue, answer all your baking questions, and, after a Charlie and the Chocolate Factory quiz, you'll get to decorate a cupcake in a mini bake-off competition.
Glenn's events are at 12.00pm, 2.00pm and 3.30pm on Saturday 18 October and cost £5.50 plus Museum entry. To find out more about the event and for details on how to book, take a look at the event webpage.
But if you can't wait until then, why not undulge yourself by trying some of Glenn's cake recipes from his blog in the meantime? Why not try a Snickers Slab or Salted Caramel and Vanilla Cake - delumptious!
