A few pictures from the set of the forthcoming Endor Productions and BBC ONE production of Roald Dahl's Esio Trot

With filming having recently wrapped on Roald Dahl's Esio Trot, we've got a few snaps from the set - including a sneaky peak at one of the stars of the show...

Dame Judi Dench and Dustin Hoffman will star in the upcoming film adaptation of Esio Trot for Endor Productions and BBC ONE, directed by Emmy award-winning Dearbhla Walsh. Adapted by Richard Curtis and Paul Mayhew-Archer - who previously worked together on the long-running comedy series The Vicar of Dibley - the 90-minute film is produced by BAFTA award winner Hilary Bevan Jones.

“To bring together two of the world’s favourite actors in Dame Judi and Dustin is a dream come true. Richard and Paul have captured the magic of Roald Dahl’s wonderful tale and and I am thrilled that Dearbhla is to direct it”, said producer Hilary Bevan Jones as filming was announced in August 2013.

Esio Trot was that last of Roald Dahl's children's stories to be published in his lifetime. Released in 1990 before his death in November of that year, it tells the tale of shy Mr Hoppy (Dustin Hoffman) and his love for his neighbour, Mrs Silver (Dame Judi Dench) - and a tortoise called Alfie who helps to bring them together.

And here's one of the cast members getting ready for a close-up...
